Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Traveling Informed (travelinginformed.com, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific to how this site actually works.
Who we are
Traveling Informed is a travel research and publishing website that helps travelers make better-informed decisions before they travel. Our website address is https://travelinginformed.com. You can contact us about this policy or your information at privacy@travelinginformed.com.
Information we collect
Newsletter signup. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is the only detail the signup form asks for.
Contact form. If you use the form on our Contact page, we collect the name, email address, subject and message you enter, so that we can read and respond to your message.
Automatically collected technical information. Like most websites, our web server and hosting provider may automatically record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the date and time of the request. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly.
We do not ask for payment details, and we do not offer user accounts or public comments on this site.
How we use your information
- To send you the Traveling Informed newsletter, if you have subscribed.
- To read and reply to messages you send through the contact form.
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix technical problems.
- To meet any legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Newsletter and unsubscribing
We use MailerLite to collect newsletter signups and send our emails. Your email address is stored with MailerLite on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, or by contacting us at the address above. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you the newsletter. MailerLite’s own privacy policy explains how it handles data.
Service providers and third parties
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site. They may process limited information when you visit or use certain features:
- Hosting and caching: our website is hosted by Hostinger, and caching technology is used to deliver pages faster. These providers process technical information such as IP addresses.
- MailerLite: processes newsletter email addresses and sends our emails.
- Google reCAPTCHA: helps protect the contact form from spam and automated abuse. It may collect hardware and software information and your IP address, and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Google Fonts: fonts used on this site may be loaded from Google’s servers, which means your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google.
These providers have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website and its service providers may use cookies and similar technologies that are needed for the site to work, to keep it secure, and to support features such as the newsletter signup form and the contact form spam protection. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Links to other websites
Our articles contain links to other websites, such as official tourism boards, government travel advice pages and transport providers. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
How long we keep your information
- Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
- Technical server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or receive a copy of it. You can also withdraw your consent to receive our newsletter at any time. To make a request, contact us at privacy@travelinginformed.com. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with a data protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no website or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Please check back periodically.
